Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game which was first released on Nintendo platform and was loved by survival game enthusiasts around the world. Upon its release it broke the market so quickly so much so that they released its PlayStation and Xbox versions within a year’s time and recently its mobile version.
Today, we lay a guide on the best and most essential perks in the game from the 164 available in the game which include 86 survivor perks and 78 killer perks.
Survivor Perks
- Borrowed Time
A perk unique to Bill, it fills the player with unexpected energy when saving an ally from a Hook within the killer’s terror radius. After unhooking a Survivor within the Killer’s Terror Radius, for 15 seconds, any damage taken that would put the unhooked survivor into the dying state will instead apply the Deep Wound Status Effect.
- Decisive Strike
Another extremely good perk, unique to Laurie. If the killer catches a survivor with this perk activated, the survivor can break free by stabbing the killer and stun it long enough to escape.
- Self-Care
A perk unique to Claudette, which allows the player to heal themselves without a med-kit which can be used whenever there is free movement and also to taunt and distract the killer.
- Spine Chill
A universal perk, Spine Chill notifies the player if a killer in a range of 36 meters is looking directly at them. It is also quite handy in various situations since it has no cooldown.
- Dead Hard
A perk unique to David, it allows the player to rush forward, avoid damage and gain invulnerability from any of the killer’s attacks though it only activates during ‘injured’ status.
- Iron Will
Unique only to Jake Park, this perk allows the survivor to concentrate and enter a meditative-like state to numb some pain whilst also reducing the grunting noise of pain caused by injuries which allows the killer to follow you.
- Adrenaline
With this perk activated, you are fuelled with unexpected energy on the verge of escape. Also, it instantly heals one Health state and allows you to sprint at 150% of your normal running speed for 5 seconds. This perk is unique to Meg.
- Resilience
Another perk available to all survivors, it grants 3/6/9 % increased Repairing, Healing, Sabotage, Unhooking, Vaulting, Cleansing, Gate Opening, and Chest Unlocking speeds while injured.
- Deliverance
This perk is unique to David. When healing a dying Survivor, your Healing speed is increased by 100 % when this perk is activated.
- We’ll Make It
When this universal perk is activated, you gain an additional 100% speed increase for every Survivor you rescue from a Hook for 30 to 90 seconds so as to heal up others.

Killer Perks
- Barbecue and Chill
Perhaps the strongest killer perk, unique only to Cannibal, it allows you to Hook the survivor and gain info about every survivor who is farther than a distance of 40 meters from you for 4 seconds.
- Hex: Ruin
This powerful perk is available only to Hag. Whenever a Generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress its Repair progress at 100/150/200 % of the normal Regression speed. Its affect lasts as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
- A Nurse’s Calling
As its name suggests, this perk is unique to the Nurse. This awesome perk allows the auras of the survivors who are healing to become visible to the killer.
- Endurance
This perk allows you to become resilient to pain by reducing the duration of Pallet Stuns by 50%. It is unique to Hillbilly.
- Tinkerer
When a Generator is repaired to 70 %, you receive a Loud Noise notification and you are granted the Undetectable Status Effect for 12/14/16 seconds. This perk is available to the Hillbilly.
- Cruel Limits
With this incredibly useful perk, whenever a generator is repaired all windows and vault spots in a 24 meter radius are immediately locked and won’t allow survivors through for 30 seconds. This helps you in cornering the survivors and taking them down. Available to the Twins and the new killer Demogorgon.
- Corrupt Intervention
This perk is unique to the Plague and it allows the Killer to block the three Generators farthest from them for up to 120 seconds.
- Remember Me
This perk unique to the Nightmare causes you to become obsessed with a particular survivor. Each time you strike the survivor with your Obsession , you increase the Exit Gate Opening time by 4 seconds up to a maximum of 16 additional seconds.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death
This universal perk can function as either a major delay or a last effort for a few kills. Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it and roots it power on the Hope of the Survivors. It also increases your movement speed by 4%.
- Pop Goes the Weasel
When this perk unique to the Clown is activated (for up to 40 seconds), you can hook a survivor and cause an instant 25% damage to the progress of the next generator you damage.
